New Product Highlight: XL Specialized Trailers New HDG Paver Trailer
With a 13-foot, Low-Profile Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck (HDG) and a load weight of 55 U.S. tons, XL Specialized is bringing another exceptional choice to their equipment lineup. Combined with XL Specialized Trailers’ new 5-3-1 Warranty Policy, XL Specialized is on top of the Heavy Haul Industry.
The Deck Length and Capacity
The main deck, composed of Apitong, features a length of 26 feet, with a 14-foot rear deck; this brings us to a total deck length of 40-feet with 8.5 feet in width. The main deck has 24-inches in loaded height while the rear is set at 40-inches. On top of its length, this trailer can also manage a capacity of 110,000 lbs. This length and strength does not compromise for clearance, allowing 8 full inches of ground clearance – leaving you with one hefty trailer capable of hauling any and all of your paving equipment.
Loading Options
There are tapered beams in the front with an extremely low four-degrees of load angle. And if that’s not enough to support the loading process, there are also 42-inch flip-ramps and the gooseneck can be adjusted to level as needed so that even paving machines and rollers are easy to load.
Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck
The HDG gooseneck is where the best features are presented: it is 13 feet long, has low-profile HDC capability, and provides five different positions of ride height in the wheel area to assist with leveling – but it also has 110 inches of swing clearance, a generous relief cut to put a safe distance between it and the truck, and an easily accessible, angled control panel towards the rear deck. The relief coupled with the sloped nose grants ample space for the electric and air connections between the trailer and truck.
Additional Components
Extra accessories include a toolbox on the front of the main deck, 26 chain drops, four of which are situated next to the toolbox. The outer beams are also equipped with seven pairs of bent D-rings and the 24-inch centers have swing-out outriggers. And if you are hauling an excavator, the rear deck can be customized to include a deep bucket well so that the lower boom section doesn’t need to be detached.
