XL Power tail trailers

The Power Tail uses a hydraulic folding tail as its rear loading ramp. Compare it with a slide axle when you want rear access while the main axle assembly stays in place.

Where this family fits

XL lists a 10-degree loading angle and a 25,000-pound tail lifting capacity for loads centered on the platform. That lifting figure is separate from the trailer’s overall and concentrated-load ratings.

The XL 80 Power Tail reference has a 13-foot 8-inch hydraulic tail, including an 8-foot 8-inch platform and a 60-inch fold-under flip tail. XL also offers the Phantom variant; confirm its equipment and dimensions separately.

XL buying questions

A few things worth clarifying.

Can the hydraulic tail lift the full trailer capacity?

No. XL publishes a separate 25,000-pound lifting limit for loads centered on the platform. The overall trailer rating is not the tail lifting rating. Check the loading instructions and ratings for the exact trailer.

Is this an in-stock trailer or a configuration to discuss?

The specifications describe the manufacturer’s reference configuration. Matching live listings appear separately on this page. If none are listed, ask Western Truck & Trailer about current availability, specifications and order timing.
