Where this family fits

XL lists high-capacity detachable configurations from 130,000 to 200,000 pounds. Jeeps and boosters help distribute weight across axles; XL explicitly states that boosters do not increase the trailer’s rated capacity.

The separate 180 DGX reference is rated at 180,000 pounds distributed and expands from 12 to 20 feet wide. It includes a three-axle jeep, double gooseneck, steer dolly and deck sections. This is a specialized system, not a dimensional template for all XL heavy-haul trailers.

XL buying questions

A few things worth clarifying.

Does adding a booster increase the trailer’s capacity?

No. XL describes boosters as a way to transfer and distribute axle loads, not increase the trailer’s structural rating. The trailer rating, component ratings and operating requirements must all be checked for the complete combination.

Is this an in-stock trailer or a configuration to discuss?

The specifications describe the manufacturer’s reference configuration. Matching live listings appear separately on this page. If none are listed, ask Western Truck & Trailer about current availability, specifications and order timing.
