XL Hydraulic folding goosenecks
The HFG folds its hydraulic gooseneck down to form the front loading approach. It is worth comparing when equipment needs a shallow approach and you prefer a folding neck to a removable one.

Where this family fits
XL lists a seven-degree loading angle for the folding gooseneck and a 26-foot main deck on the 100 HFG. Power comes from a compatible truck wet kit or a self-contained hydraulic motor.
Check the equipment’s clearance through the entire transition, not just the ramp angle. The published 100 HFG has a perimeter frame and G-channel crossmembers on 18-inch centers. XL also describes an 80 HFG Railroad Special, a separate configuration that requires its own drawing.

A few things worth clarifying.
Does a folding gooseneck detach from the trailer?
The HFG neck folds at its hinge points to create the front loading ramp. A detachable gooseneck separates from the main deck. Compare the operating procedure, loading space and equipment clearance for each design.
Is this an in-stock trailer or a configuration to discuss?
The specifications describe the manufacturer’s reference configuration. Matching live listings appear separately on this page. If none are listed, ask Western Truck & Trailer about current availability, specifications and order timing.
