XL Extendable step decks
The SDE pairs a fixed neck with an extending lower deck for long freight. It is a useful starting point when cargo length drives the trailer choice and a detachable front-loading neck is not required.

Where this family fits
The XL 110 SDE reference model extends from 38 feet to 57 feet 10 inches on the main deck. XL publishes a 40-inch loaded deck height for this model; the 120 and 130 SDE tables list a different, 33-inch deck.
Work through support locations and load distribution as carefully as total length. The reference concentrated-load rating is for the deck closed. A jeep or booster can help distribute weight across axles but does not raise the trailer’s structural capacity.

A few things worth clarifying.
Should I choose an extendable step deck or an extendable lowboy?
Start with loaded height and loading method. A step deck offers a fixed-neck layout for long freight. An HDE or MDE lowboy provides a lower well and a detachable neck for front loading. Compare the actual drawings and load charts for the proposed builds.
Is this an in-stock trailer or a configuration to discuss?
