SmithCo SX7 7 axle side dumps.

Compare the SX7 when the operation calls for seven trailer axles in a single-trailer configuration. Its 40-foot tub matches the SX6 reference in volume; the extra axle changes the running-gear comparison.

Compare the running gear, not just the tub

The SX7 reference uses the same 53-foot frame and 40-foot tub dimensions as the SX6 reference, with four steerable lift axles alongside three fixed axles. Compare axle loading, empty weight, tires and maintenance requirements for the actual proposal.

Validate the operating case

Bring routes, tractor specifications, material density and expected cycles. An additional axle does not by itself establish a higher legal payload. Review the complete vehicle and local requirements before committing to the configuration.

Questions before you choose.

Does the SX7 have a larger tub than the SX6?

The published SX6 and SX7 references both use a 40-foot tub with 26.8 cubic yards waterfull and 35.6 cubic yards heaped volume. The reference axle layouts differ. Compare the full combination rather than choosing on axle count alone.

How do I check SX7 availability?
