SmithCo
SmithCo product guide

SmithCo SX4 4 axle side dumps.

The four-axle range is worth comparing when the route and tractor support a different weight distribution than a three-axle layout. Separate SmithCo’s 46-foot reference from Western listings with other frame lengths.

The application

Where this trailer fits.

Do not carry a reference dimension across models

SmithCo publishes a 46-foot frame and 36-foot tub for SX4-4636. Western listings may instead identify SX4-49-36. Use the specific listing and build sheet for the trailer being quoted.

Work through the axle arrangement

Axle spacing, lift equipment and tractor dimensions belong in the same review. Compare the combination’s empty weight and axle loading with the planned route before deciding what load it can carry.

Questions before you choose.

Why does the reference say 46 feet when a listing says 49?

They identify different builds. The table is SmithCo’s SX4-4636 reference; an SX4-49-36 listing must be checked against its own dimensions and build sheet. Neither figure should overwrite the other.

How do I check SX4 availability?

Matching live listings appear on this page, with available and incoming quantities shown separately. If none appear, send your required configuration and target date so sales can review sourcing options.
